A Honus Wagner T206 baseball card in poor condition sold last week for $262,000 at a Heritage Auction Galleries sale. A near-perfect Wagner card sold in 2007 for $2.8 million. It’s the rarest and most famous of all baseball cards. About 60 of the 1909-11 cards are known. This card was willed to an order of U.S. Catholic nuns, the School Sisters of Notre Dame, by a brother of a deceased nun. He had owned the card since 1936. The buyer owns a chain of sports card stores in the Southeast.
I wouldn’t let honus clean my spikes. I don’t think he was that good. He had a small mitt. His cards are over priced. My cards were free, but I will sell them for 2million/each and they are in good condition.
