Marks without “Royal” are not odd at all; on the contrary: assuming that they are ‘rare’ or ‘peculiar’ is odd. And those WITHOUT “Royal” are older (1875 – 1890) than those WITH “Royal” (1890 – 1920). Thank you Friedrich! My thinking was that my G.Gr.F. owned a store that sold various home goods and a lot of what came home seems to have rarely been used. This vase has a small, but original dent in the spout – which roused my speculation. Thanks for the clarification! -bj
