I am curious if anyone might have information on the value of a little end table made from palm fronds. My grandfather made this little table in the early thirties. He lived in Sacramento at the time and made these from the branches of a palm tree he had on property.
Several years ago I saw an article in the paper with a picture of a similar table that was made in a Japanese internment camp during the 1940s. Obviously, it piqued my interest, as the one I still have in my possession (that my grandfather made) looks identical.
Anyone familiar with these?
Did you ever find out anything about your Grandfather’s table? I inherited a similar one from a friend who lived in Oakland, Ca. His has a paper label on the underside that says “Palm Furniture Works, Made to order, Finishing and Repairing, 600 Hollywood Blvd, San Leandro, Calif”. Even with that information, I can’t find out anything about this style of furniture. Would love to hear from anyone with thoughts, ideas or suggestions!
