I’ve been searching the Internet for days now but I haven’t found a mark like this. Could it be Adolf Bauer (Germany) the end of 19th – beginning of 20th century?

May I ask where that ID / name came from? Not only do I not recognize the mark, I also fail in recognizing the name. Taking my extesive library into account I just can’t imagine that this “Adolf Bauer” slipped my attention.

I was told the name and period but I can’t find any confirmation about it. From this website I found this but the mark is different:
