Greetings! I really need some help! My Uncle worked for LBJohnson while he was in office and became friends with he and Lady Byrd. He has 4 large watercolors that were Christmas gifts from the Johnson’s. They have a personal message from both the President and his wife and their signatures plus the presidential seal on them. He also has citations, books that were gifted to him, photos of he and his wife at white house functions, citations, and stories galore. He is getting on in years and may be the only living member of his unit left. I want to help him sell this incredible collection and am at a loss as to how to go about doing so. Is there anyone out there that can help me value this collection? He is also willing to sit down with the person that purchases his collection and answer questions and relay his many stories of his time with the Johnson family. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You need more professional help than what this forum can give you. First you need a art museum to have Painting’s evaluated. I believe there is a Lbj library in Texas you could start there and maybe they can give you some guidance. Perhap’s get in touch with a Antique or collector’s magazine and place an ad or talk to the editor. get in touch with a high end auctioneer. Someone you can trust to guide you. he was the President of USA and this call’s for professioanlism.
