I have two mugs, I believe character mugs, that i cannot find any information on. One is marked on the bottom with a circle. Within the circle are the letters M and K, then it says hand painted, and underneath the circle it says JAPAN. The other mug has no markings that I can make out. Any info. would be appreciated.
Yes, Japan & china made lot’s of those mugs. They were trying to imitate the toby & character mugs that Royal Doulton were making. They are copies and they never had any value and still don’t, they also made lot’s of look alike figurines of the famous Hummel’s and people turned up their nose at them all about at the same time that Royal Doulton & Hummels were selling high.
