While making my rounds of the thrift stores recently, I found a set of stereoview cards made by the Keystone View Co. with a pair of telebinoculars. I had no idea what I was buying. They looked old and interesting, so I took them home.
The set included Vols. 1-XII of “Tour of the World” and Vol. I-II of “World War”. The cases (that look like a pair of books) and the cards are all in superb condition.
I haven’t been able to find much info on the internet about these cards or what other sets might be available. I did find a few on e-bay, but I noticed that on the cards I have, there is a letter and a number at the top center of each card and either a single or double star below the number. Ex. the Tour of the World cards are numbered “T-###” and the World War cards are numbered “W-###”, but the cards being sold on E-bay do have these numbers. Does anyone know why some are #’d and others are not?
I guess basically I’m just seeking any info anyone can give me about this find. Thanks!
