I have an American Federal period mahogany chest of drawers dated circa 1800. It was made in South Carolina and has its original hardware. Unfortunately, it has a crack across the top and a small piece of the veneer is missing. I can’t afford the repairs but would like to sell the chest of drawers. Can anyone give me information on who might be interested in such a piece?
Could you possibly post a pic of the chest and one of the dovetails on the drawer side front?? How is the chest dated,,need to see that as well !! Its rare to find furniture with any info !! What kind of provenance does it have,,if any !! If a purchased piece, what were you told about it ??
