Does anyone have any idea what this jar is/was used for? It has an I.W. Rice & Co. Inc. Made in Japan sticker on the bottom. This jars’ Brass screw on lid has a hole in the middle of it. The jar with lid on is approx. 3½” tall. Also, any idea on it’s age and a valuation would be helpful.

Saw a couple of these on ebay !! Do you have this one listed ?? They called it a diffuser !! And it would work well for that use !! Scented oil in the jar and several diffuser sticks in the top !! The oil would soak into the sticks and scent a room !! They had theirs listed at $15.95 !! Age would be probably 1960`s or so !!
@marthahill, Thank you for your reply. Yes, I do have the item listed on eBay. I have no idea what the jar was used for…My research comes up empty-handed. I described possible uses for this jar. I don’t know if a Vanity Jar or maybe used as a Sugar pour? I am hoping someone can give me a solid lead as to what it is and what it was used for.
