Nice that you have most of the set !! The hot pin test is easy You just need a pair of pliers and a sewing needle or pin !! Hold the back of the pin or needle with the pliers and heat the pointed end till it gets red hot or at least close to red hot !! Then touch the hot end to the bottom of the item and put a little pressure on it to see if it has a chemical smell and melts a bit !! Stone will have no smell and of course will not melt !! The needle is not large so it does not damage the item or reduce any potential value if any !!

hi, thanks for your reply – i hadn’t considered that, how do i do hot pin test? yes, they’re on the snaller side, personal sized ashtrays, and i do beleive they’re from 50s or 60s. a friend gave them to me when i smoked more than 15yrs ago. he found them in his italian grandfathers’s stuff when he passed, but they’ve never been used.

What is the last item in your hand ?? Where did you get these items ?? Its possible they are not stone at all but man ,made materials similar to how counter tops are made !! They can make them look like any stone,, marble, granite ect and are difficult to tell the difference !! Have you done a hot pin test to see if it has a chemical smell or melts a bit ??
Should be a clover and diamond with the heart and spade !!
How big are these items ?? They look like personal ashtrays for a bridge set from the 1950`s or 60`s !!
