I realize from your lack of knowledge about how to respond on a public forum that you must be quite young !! But that is no excuse to be rude !! Why would you think I might be envious or jealous ?? Believe me I am not !! Your container would not be something I would purchase even at a thrift store !! If you know what it is and its perceived value by all means list it on ebay and sell it if you wish !! Post the item number so we can all watch the bids !!
And yes,, way before your time those that took the grand tour as it was known did bring back many things from countries that were duty free !! US Customs has a list of the items that are allowed today without excess taxes !!
So before you question any one here or anywhere else I would suggest you take a history lesson and do your research !!
You asked for an opinion and I gave you mine,,as to the containers possible value,, when you put it on ebay we will wait and see what it sells for !! That’s the only way you can establish a value is if someone actually buys it !!
And you might want to know that the people here are not part of the Kovels staff !! We are not a part of this website but we have been in the business of antiques and collectables for probably more years than you are old !! If you do not like the opinions given,,there are many other forums to ask !! Good luck with your sale !!
And please learn English and how to type it !!

I have looked at the bottom and I see nothing that resembles any kind of makers mark nor a signature !! Your vase is in the amphora shape but there are many variations of amphora !! And they are still being made and used in some countries !! Yours does appear to be hand made and shows some age !! These were traditionally used to store wine and other liquids but nowdays they are simply used as a vase !! I would say yours is probably mid century or before !! Could have been brought back from someones vacation,, possibly the Mediterranean region !! May have held olive oil or even a good wine !!
