Hello, I have a Waechtersbach plate that looks like a cake plate. It looks like it is one piece and is a round plate (about 12″) on a short pedestal. The plate is lined in black. On the back is what I believe to be the Waechtersbach ‘hive’ mark along with the design number Dec 2783 (could be 2788 or 2733); Germany; and 1VV970 (unclear) by the ‘hive’. Can anyone tell me whether this is actually Waechtersbach and, if so, the age of the item? Thanks very much! (I tried to post photos but I get an error message.)
They used several marks similar to yours and others as well so saying it is theirs or it is not is difficult !! They are still in operation and making plates/chargers like yours. I looked at one made the same on etsy priced at $35.but you can probably find them on ebay less than that !! They have several distributors in the U.S !! My feeling is that yours was made fairly recently !!
I would email the Waechtersbach company for dating !!
Hi – Yes, I’ve seen that piece and that mark. It looks the same as the mark on my plate, but then, I’m a novice. In one of the photos I posted, the mark is shown larger and it appears just below the Dec mark. It is difficult to see regardless because it is not indented very much. Thanks for your help.

I can`t see your mark well so I found a good pic of the mark so you can compare !! Chris Marshall is an expert on the marks from that region and is the owner of porcelainmarksandmore.com !! Maybe he will take a look in the next day or so !! He will know if its a correct mark !!
