Hello, I’ve been trying to figure out this impressed makers mark for years. I bought this pair of roosters about 20 years ago and don’t know anything about them. It reads Japan in black lettering on the bottom and has this impressed marking. Thanks so much.

No would not be !! These were stamped at the factory with the impressed mark !! It was made in the mold or stamped as greenware while the clay was soft !! Hull,, Hall and others were made here and usually have “Made in USA” or just USA on them !! They never used Japan made items !!
Many like the roosters for decoration !! Best is to check ebay and see what similar size ect are selling for !! My guess is around $20. for the pair !!

The are figurines although the base is cupped like. They are about 8 inches tall at the tail feather. Thanks

Just wondering does the roosters head come off like a container for something or are they just figurines ?? If so how big are they ??
