Q: I inherited a porcelain picture I believe is quite old. It’s signed H. Doublet in gold leaf. The picture is 6 1/2 by 4 1/2 inches and is in a gold frame measuring 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 inches. The backing is tapestry that is possibly original to the piece. There is a small area where it started to chip and a hairline crack barely visible near the signature. Does this have any value in the condition it’s in? Is there any way to repair it, and would that add to the value?Q: I inherited a porcelain picture I believe is quite old. It’s signed H.
