Brandeis University has agreed to call off the sale of paintings given to the school’s museum in past years. The Brandeis board of trustees had voted to sell the museum’s collection to help with financial problems at the school. Donors and others went to court to stop the sale. Last week the board agreed to keep the paintings, and the museum will be open to the public. Brandeis is looking for a new museum director. There have been many occasions when donations to a museum or historical society have been sold to get money for other parts of the organization. This time the university seems to have decided to settle and call off the sale rather than fight a lawsuit.

The only thing education, in any form, is interested in today is numbers….students and money. It should be against the law to sell paintings DONATED to colleges and universities. they were donated for the STUDENTS use!
