Q. I read your newspaper column about a Smiley cookie jar, described as a pig wearing a scarf around his neck and trousers. We have a “lady” version. She’s wearing a dress with a peach collar and a hat with pink and blue flowers. She’s carrying a purse. There’s gold trim on the purse and buttons. On the bottom I can make out the words “Patented” and “USA,” but there’s a word in script that I can’t read. I am wondering if the lady pig has a name. I know our jar was made before 1947, because we have a picture of our then-baby son with it.
