Mr. Potato Head
Mr. Potato Head has seen many changes since it was introduced by Hasbro in 1952. Originally the toy was boxed as 28 sharp-pronged plastic face pieces—eyes, ears, noses, mouths—and accessories—a hat and a pipe—that could be stuck into a potato or other vegetable or fruit. Mr. Potato Head was such an instant success, that in 1953 Mrs. Potato Head was introduced.
