Castor Sets
Standing salt and pepper castor sets were used during the seventeenth century. The sugar castor, mustard pot, spice dredger, bottles for vinegar and oil, and other spice holders were all introduced within a few years of each other. The containers were made from silver, gold, pewter, china, or glass.
