Q: My grandfather owned a 16-string Gibson harp guitar that now belongs to me. It’s in good condition and is hanging on my wall. There’s a standard six-string guitar built into the right side of the instrument and 10 additional bass strings on the left side. Inside the body opening there’s an oval label that says ‘Gibson Mandolin Guitar Co., Kalamazoo, Mich.’ The handwritten number on the label is 27468, and there are two patent dates, Feb. 1, 1898 and March 30, 1906. Can you tell me its value?
