Old Ashtrays on Stands

Ashtrays on stands that could be put next to a chair were popular in the 1960s and ʼ70s. Usually it was a straight legged stand with a round ashtray, a match holder and cigarette container at the top. There might be a small figure, airplane or animal as decoration. They were made of wood, metal, iron or aluminum. They are now used to hold a drink or a book and are called “martini stands.” New stands are expensive decorator items that can hold remotes and phones. Ashtray stands are found at flea markets.
