Tiffany Girls

Many Tiffany lamps were designed by women working for Louis C. Tiffany, not by Tiffany himself according to a 2005 study based on correspondence. Now many of these lamps, including Wisteria, Dragonfly, Cobweb, and Poppy, are on display at the New York Historical Society with the history of the “Tiffany Girls.” Clara Driscoll (1861-1944) designed some of the leaded glass Tiffany lamps sold by Louis C. Tiffany and had a group of women who worked in the glass cutting department making the glass shades.
