Check your safe deposit box at least once a year. It should contain valuable papers such as stock information, passports, car titles, deeds or contracts concerning real estate, insurance information and automatic yearly renewals. Be sure someone knows where the safe deposit box is and where to find a copy of any necessary keys. Some of these records, like insurance and investments, should be also copied and stored at home.
