To determine the age of a Tootsietoy vehicle, look at the wheels. From 1909 to 1932, the wheels were metal and painted black or gold. In the 1933 Tootsietoy catalog, vehicles had either metal wheels or wheels with metal hubs and white rubber tires. Plastic wheels were introduced in the 1950s.
