My friend is liquidating her parents’ small museum complex in the Midwest. She has a near mint, very rare Cherri Bon soda fountain syrup dispenser (1910) that she wants to sell. There are no chips in the piece, the color is all original as are the works. It is missing the porcelain knob, but other than that, it is a beautiful piece. These dispensers were made at the Tiffin, Ohio, American Standard Pottery Co. plant.
How should she sell it? What kind of price should she ask for it? I have seen them sell for between $8,000-$20,000. She is having an auction, but this is obviously not a piece that should be sold at a small-town auction. She wants it to go to a collector. But we are unsure how to find collectors for this.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I will add a photo tomorrow.
