This came out of my grandparent’s small country store. It was in business until the 60’s, when my grandfather died, but this jar is much older, I believe very early 1900’s, as it has a gray tint and has bubbles in the glass. It’s quite heavy, approximately 12″ wide and 10″ high. I’ve searched for years for what this jar originally held and when it was made, but have found nothing. The embossing is “Eger’s” in script. My grandparents had, I believe, chocolate candy in it, but I have no idea if that’s what it originally held, or what “Eger’s” was. Any information about this old counter jar would be greatly appreciated!
My location is southeast Michigan.
