Hello. This is my second piece. It’s about 9″ tall, and looks to be made out of walrus bone (the perpendicular cracks on the base). It’s obviously quite old.
Question – If this is bone, as it sure seems to be, why have some of the small carved flowers on the kimono fallen off?
Would they have been glued on? How could they be carved, and yet come off like they have? Am i wrong about this being bone?
