i just purchased, what I believe to be, a McKee milk glass concord pattern punch bowl, stand, and (27) cups. I really would appreciate some help first verifying that is what I indeed do have, and then an approximate value on something like this please! Thank you very much for the help!

What is the pink set you are looking at ?? Can you post a pic of it ?? Another note to the above post is who made the item you are interested in !! Mfrs are important if you know it !! Some unmarked items are easy to find by description and others are not !! And separate the classification between pottery/china and glassware !! It will be easier to research for you !! In other words,,the McKee set is opaque glassware but even though china/porcelain/ceramic is opaque,,it is not glassware !! How to tell older milk glass from the new,, hold one of the cups by the handle and look through the cup top to bottom toward a bright light,,sunlight is best but any bright light source will work !! You can see flashing yellow/ orange and red as you move the cup !! Most new milk glass will not have the fire,,as it is called !!

Thank you for your kindness!! I am interested in all kinds of glassware and silver for that matter. I tend to gravitate towards Asian glassware décor pieces (I have several ginger jars), very feminine/intricate China or other serving sets (currently have my eye on a lovely pink set!), or anything I else I actually need for hosting purposes, hence the punchbowl set! I am sure at the end of my life, I will be one of those ladies that ends up with a little of everything but not a complete collection of anything (drives my husband crazy!)! So, I can see why I would need a library of reference books- Ebay probably is the easiest route to go!! THANK YOU!

Wish there were a simple answer to that question !! But glassware is so expansive a subject that it would take an entire library !! Is there a classification of glassware you are most interested in ?? Like Milk Glass,,Depression Glass,,Art Glass ect ?? And are you intending to purchase for resale or to keep ?? If so you can buy reference books that will help somewhat for identification purposes !! But the very best reference for what is a fair price to pay and is easy to use is Ebay !! If you see something you are interested in just look it up on ebay That tells you the asking prices,,both high and low and if there is interest in it !! Of course there are always a few that will have sky high prices so disregard those !! Stay with the low and middle end prices,, see who has bids or watchers and if there are none then look to the lower price !! If there is some interest from the buying public then add a few dollars !! Just use common sense !! And another thing,, with glassware do not buy if it is chipped or cracked no matter how cheap it is unless you are going to keep it for yourself !!
If your hand held computer/phone ect will do it,,not all will,, when you look at an ebay page in the left column you can see completed listings and sold listings !! Click on the sold listings and that tells you what people are actually paying for an item !! Use your home computer to see what I mean !!
I am glad to answer any questions you may have !!

Thank you very much for the identification confirmation and pricing help! I purchased the set on the lower end of your value estimate, so I feel good about my purchase. I do plan to keep this set and enjoy it! I think it will be beautiful on my table for any occasion!

Another quick unrelated question for you- Where can I educate myself on antiques (specifically glass wares)? I am a younger woman and often feel I may get taken advantage of (price wise!) when purchasing at auctions or antique shops. Running a quick google search on items can only get me so far if I know anything about them. I would love maybe a good reference guide I could carry with me to quickly look items up say in an auction setting. I really do appreciate your help!! Maybe one day I can be knowledgeable enough to be the question responder and not the askee 🙂

Those pics are fine,, thanks !! That is correct,,McKee Concord pattern !! It would have originally had 12 cups with the set so someone must have bought extras !! The value on this set,,as with most others is minimal !! They are just not used anymore,, and too large for collectors !! Prices on ebay run between $30. and about $80. with a few at ridiculous prices !! No bids or watchers and little interest !! Replacements.com has the cups at $3.99 each !! Its a nice set and worth keeping in my opinion !!
