I’m looking for any information on the age, style or value of this secretary.
Slide top Birdseye Secretary/Desk. It has 2 horizontal bins, four vertical bins with small drawers underneath the vertical bins. There is one long front drawer under the slant top.
There are some scratches (normal wear and tear), and ink spot in large drawer.
Well,, the last pic tells me what I needed to know !! It is not an old desk most likelly from the 1940`s or 50`s !! The style is in the arts and crafts style but was not made during that period !! The 1950`s had a similar style with little adornment and straight lines !! Desks or secretaries are a difficult sell because no one wants them anymore !! They have little use in todays homes !! It may bring between $200 and $250 on a good day !! But if you advertise it as mid century modern you may have better results !!
It appears to be a simple butt joint but I needed the pic from the outside instead of the inside !! The way it is made tells me about the age of the secretary !! If you could take a pic of the drawer from the outside just to tell how the front and sides are joined together !! The large drawer is what I need !! Often the small inside drawers are done differently with the same joinery as yours has !!
Thank you very much for the information! It is appreciated!
