My daughter-in-law has this petite carved chair which belonged to her late father. Someone said that it was made by a famous artist, but we have been unable to find any information about it. There are no markings on the bottom except for part of what appears to be a manufacturer tag or an inventory tag. Can anyone help with any information or value?

Thanks in advance.

Hate to burst anyones bubble but these were not made by anyone famous !! Just regular mfrs of furniture !! Started out as dining chairs as you can see by the pic above !! Same chair just different carving on crest !! Its common to find many variations of this chair made in the 1940`s !! Most are found now as sewing chairs due to the small size !! I have the same chair just different flower at my sewing machine !! Different mfrs had their own variation of flowers on back crest !! Some had more than one pattern but the rest of the chair is the same style !!

Thank you marthhill

I sort of suspected that after I found a salesman sample for the same chair on Etsy, after I made this post. Thanks for adding the photos. Interestingly enough, have not been able to identify the manufacturer.
