Hoping someone can provide some information on this glass and brass floor lamp. 88 year old Grandmother says it was a gift from her aunt. That her aunt lived in Europe and that it was probably about 100 years old. Some lady she once knew told her “you know that lamp is probably worth several thousands.”. There are no markings on it anywhere. Have you ever seen anything like it or can help determine it’s value?[i][u][/u][/i]
The last picture is a close up of the base of the lamp. It’ is made to look like a flower pot. I am trying to get more info for you from the owner. It very well was rewired, and I am almost certain the original wiring would of been long discarded.I will be back to this post hopefully with more information. In the meantime thank you for your response.
Explain what the last pic is !! Do not think it would get even close to that value !! Gold is discolored so it isn`t gilded !! Looks to be just a gold paint !! Do you have the original wiring and plug that was on it !! If that is the current wiring that I see in the last pic that says it was rewired probably 1960`s or later !!
The old wiring and plug can help date it !!
