I have a Klemp “hoosier” type cabinet that belonged to my paternal grandparents but they altered the lefthand cupboard and I can’t tell if there was a flour bin there or what. My Dad is 92 and can’t really remember what it used to look like. I’ve attached pictures of the cupboards and base and the etched glass door. It’s a 2-door cupboard and most of the ones I’ve seen are 3-door. Can you help me out at all? Thanks.

You may just have to look through pics online to find one that is similar and go by that !!Find one with similar doors as yours !! There is no history on Klemp furniture and no online catalogue that I found !! I think they were a small company and sold locally !! Within Kansas I mean !! There are some relatives still in the Leavenworth area that was posted on a blog on the link above !! Does your family have pictures that may show the cabinet before the alteration ?? The frosted glass door may be the best clue if you can find another one !!

I’m not interested in the value, since it was in the family. I want to know if anyone has pictures of what the left-hand cupboard side looked like before it was modified. From what I’ve learned, the Klemp manufacturer from Leavenworth KS burned down in 1930 so these are vary rare and I can’t find any pictures on the internet that match the style that I have. Thanks for your interest.

What do you need to know about it ?? There were many different styles of Hoosier cabinets made and basically,, depending on condition they will run about the same value no matter who made it !! Condition is the key factor !!
