Well, that certainly is an odd one !! Can the metal cap on top be removed ?? Can you do that please or if it is made together can you take it off so we can see the lamp itself ?? Have you looked at the bottom for a name could possibly be around the electrical socket or inside the metal cap. Can you take a pic of the top cap so I can see the pattern ?? It isn`t clear in the current one !! Are you sure

That lamp looks to me like it is a Moorish lamp. Morroccan or Persian design. Most people from what I have seen put them under Turkish, ottoman, Islamic as descriptions. This is the very little I know about this lamp but it should help point you in the right direction. =)
