Pretty sure from what I can see that this table was made around the turn of the century !! In the UK this construction method was used as late as 1920 !! Some say even the 1930`s !! I do not think it was a buffet but some do call it that !! Possibly used as a server but I know this type table as a hall table !! It could have been used in many ways depending on the owner !! A traditional buffet would normally have two doors below the drawer for storage !! Most did not have the top shelf !! The top part is just to show some nice pottery pieces or anything they cared to display !!

Thank you for all the information! This has been in my family for at least four generations. I’ve always thought it was an attractive piece of furniture. My daughter now has it and my grand daughter will probably get it….. For insurance purposes, do you have any idea of value? Thanx again….

Its English made !! Can you open the drawer and take a good close pic of the dovetail joints on the side of it please !!
