I have some gigantic furniture that the previous owner had for forty years. I have never seen anything like it and I can’t find any information on it. My son has listed it for sale on craigslist and has several people interested in it but I hate to see it go without at least learning something about it.

The chair alone is about six feet wide. You can sit sideways in it and stretch all the way out. The back of the pieces have a large stone, but I don’t know what kind. There are fish themed carvings on the front. The upholstery is some kind of plastic, with a faint leopard pattern.

I have not found any manufacturer’s name or makers’ marks.

Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks!

The vinyl is pretty beaten up. The previous owner gave it to us because her grandchildren were climbing all over it and wrecking the upholstery. Thanks for your help and advice.

I didn`t see much wrong with it but that’s just from the pics !! Is the upholstery ok ?? If the wood is just scratched up from use you can use “Old English Scratch Cover ” and it will look great,, just use the same as a polish and wipe off any excess !! !! I would not get the Old English on the stone or the upholstery but it works wonders on dark wood !! I would ask $500. for it !! If it doesn`t sell at that price you can always come down,, !! Most buyers will try to get the price down anyway !! That’s part of the game !!

Thanks for the info. My son has it listed on Craigslist for 200, which seems low to me, but it is pretty beaten up so maybe not?

The cover looks like vinyl which has a slick surface like plastic !! It was popular around mid century !! Not really sure about yours but I have seen those inset stones in furniture imports from Malaysia and Taiwan !! The fish theme is also used there on furniture !! How much is your son asking for it ??
