Is this a shaving mirror? Door knocker? Other? Is very heavy (possible cast iron?) – the face has long beard and full moustache, leaves on head looks to be mythology-based, mirror is beveled, on back is loop (for hanging?) and prop is decorative (why make a decorative prop where it won’t be seen?), measurement is 12 1/2″ by 7 1/2″, patina is dark with gold showing through here and there, on back is a screw on each corner of mirror section.

What you have is a mirror with what is known as the Green Man,, keeper of the woods !! European mythology !!

You can get some history above !! The first link shows a similar face but some green men can look quite grotesque !! He will always have leaves and greenery in the hair !! Your mirror could be bronze !! Not sure why they did it but the loop belongs to the top decorative part,, what you call a stand is just the hanger for the bottom, mirror part !! A stand would have to go to the bottom of the mirror to use as free standing !! Looks like that is just the way its made !! I bet the top and bottom were originally made as two separate casts so could be sold either way !! Too costly to change the molds so they just adapted and used them as they were !! Probably European !!
