Small oval accent table that my grandmother owed. It has a glass top with maroon fabric. I believe a federal style legs (I could be off on this one) and a single draw in front. The draw joints are straight dovetail (See picture)? (trying to find a sample online). Any thoughts on year, style or any information would greatly help as I am moving my mom from Connecticut to Florida and want to see if this is worth taking. I can add more pictures if needed. Thanks for looking at this for us.
A side note: no markings except for under the draw which appears to be a cursive “L” but I can’y tell if that was added later on.
Sorry to be so long but for some reason these are not showing up in the “Recent ” posts !! The dovetails are the ones that hold the drawer front to the side pieces !! The pics that you posted are of the back of the drawer and the construction on the back is different from the front !! Take a pic of the dovetails right behind the drawer front !! Take it from the outside of the drawer please !!
I have seen many tables that were remodeled similarly in the 70`s and 80`s !! Fabric was the “in” thing to do I guess !!
Open the drawer and take a pic of the dovetail joints on the side please !! That fabric would not be original to the table !!
just uploaded 2 more pics of the joint.
Hi Martha: Thanks for replying, the joint.jpg pic is the actual joint and I will take 2 more on the other sides to show the outside areas. give me 5 minutes to update those images.
As for the fabric, I’m trying to see how they could have replaced it. Second thought, just looked at it and saw 2 screws. Good call on the fabric/
