Good to know the tassel is missing,, thought it was a smudge on my glasses for a minute !!
Sad to say this brown furniture has taken a serious hit in the last few years !! If I would give a value with the missing tassel I would say it might sell for $200. to $250. on a good day !! Todays buyers are just not really into “grandma`s furniture” !! No matter that its built better that what you can buy today !!

That one worked !! The simple butt joined drawers make me even more sure of the 1940`s date !! I am curious about one thing,,,on the first pic you posted,, looking at the left side there appears to be a wooden tassel decoration but there is not one I can see on the right side,, is that correct ??
