I have an old “gone with the wind” lamp that belonged to my husband’s grandmother. It is 24″ tall and has a 10″ diameter globe. Don’t know if it is hand-painted or not. Was originally oil and has been converted to electric. Would like to sell it but don’t know what its worth is so I can set a fair asking price. Any suggestions?

That is a lovely piece. I have something similar but sorry to say don’t know its retail worth either. Let us know your outcome? Thank you and good luck.

Here are a few recent sales from ebay !! Difficult to say what it will sell for since lamps of any kind are a personal decision and depends on their decorating scheme !!You could start it at about $85. and see where it goes or if you have a price in mind just do a “buy it now” if you plan on selling online !! Your lamp is probably from the 30`s or so !! Many of these lamps were made well into the 1970`s !!

I’ve looked on eBay and saw similar large lamps going from $400 up to $2,000. This is why I searched for a site that appears to specialize in knowing the difference. Lamps that I saw for under $100 appear to be quite small and modern Kmart type of knockoffs which clearly doesn’t apply to my lamp. Thanks for your input though 🙂
