I have a Shaker-like dresser that my grandma brought used in 1934. It has the same pink paint on it that it had when she purchased it. The paint has either medium to coarse sand or groundup glass mixed in it. I have looked everywhere, but can not find anything on this antique painting techique. Also, the grooves on the inside of the frame posts that the side pieces fit into have sand and lime mortar putty filling them on the legs. Any help on dating the painting technique or the age/style of dresser would be helpfull. Attached is a collage of the different furniture elements.
