Any information that can be given on this pie safe would be appreciated. My husband and I bought it from a friend who was moving to Alaska and could not take it with her. She said it had been in her family for several generations, but she wasn’t sure how old it was. It is solid walnut except for the screen doors over the shelves at the top. I would like to eventually add knobs and fix the hinges at the bottom so that that part of the safe can be used, so any help with ideas on how to fix it or what appropriate hardware to use would be appreciated as well.
