I recently bought a small drop-front writer’s desk, and am preparing to strip the terrible paint job from it. The lady I bought it from said she acquired from another woman who had owned it for 50 years, and so in the process of researching the origins of the desk, I found a label on the underside (I’ve figured it out to be from a “J.H. Malbin & Sons, Mount Clemens Michigan”. This company was around in the 1920’s and was dissolved (??) in the 1950’s. I can’t find much of any information on the maker (Malbin) and was wondering if this little desk had any sort of value or worth, simple due to the maker or style? I can include additional pics of the desk, if necessary. Any help is appreciated!
