I cannot find any labels on the chairs and I only know they have been around our retreat house since it opened in 1960.
Any similar chairs I have found online do not have the hand-hole. And the ones I do find that are close in style are almost always labeled “Bentwood Thonet Chairs” and “Eames” in the title.
Ours are well built and have been cared for by Dominican Sisters for 50 years. I’m thinking these are a style built for restaurant / commercial use…
Any information to their origins and manufacture would be greatly appreciated!!!
…And at the moment I can’t get the picture to post – stay tuned!…
…there. Got a pic of the chair as my profile pic! B)
My husband and I are looking for more information about a desk manufactured by Michigan Desk Co. We know that the company was in business from 1906-1918. The desk we purchased has a mark on one of the panels that is Vllll. All of the pieces to the desk are numbered in pencil as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Hi everyone. I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about this furniture. I do not have a picture at the moment if you need one let me know. I have a couch, 2 end tables a coffee table and 2 swivel chairs. The chairs are in bad shape been used alot. But the rest has all been in storage. They are a Orange and brown leather. I think made before the 1970’s not sure. If anyone knows anything on them please let me know.
