I’m trying to find out more about these chairs. They were purchased in an antique store in California (in or near San Francisco) by wealthy woman for her home, mainly as a decorative accents or occasional use only because the rush seats seem to be original and delicate. The cushions are not original. They are obviously antique and no nails or screws have been used in the joinery or are visible any where.
The pictorial design at the top slat is of a man with a hat in some type of boat. I think they are European, but not positive. Any info on age/country of origin would be helpful.
Thanks.

Where were these chairs found !! I see nothing unusual about the chairs other than the art work !! I would say AAFA even if in a European style !!
