Hi everyone. I have been a collector of anything I find that I thing is odd, old , and have been collection stuff for quite a few years now. I got this bottle that I found in an old abandoned , collapsing barn. I have done some research and stiff haven’t come up will a solid answer. Hopefully some one here might be able to help .
I have a lot of other stuff I will post as I get time.
I have looked up bottles and came across a site or two that leads me to believe it is before 1900 and I believe it is hand spun. It is dark olive green and these are some of the specs on the bottle.
210mm long
100mm edge to edge on width of base
approx. 33mm deep in bottom
11mm spot in bottom
40mm top of bottle
33top of neck
45mm base of neck
I don’t see any cracks and looks to be in great shape. There are no seam lines anywhere.
The 2 things I saw that might be helpful are (1) At the top of the neck where the part the cork would push into there is a smudge that looks to look like too much glass. (2) The bottom is concave pretty deep and in the middle of the concave it kind looks like a pontil
bottle would. The bottle is too perfect . I am told it being too perfect it couldn’t be. Any how I would appreciate any help.
