[b]Hello, I am new here and have a question please. I have what I was told is Baccarat from the 1870’s. It is shaped like a Top Hat with a hinged lid. I showed it to an elderly man who has collected Baccarat for almost 50 years, he has one like it in a different color and says it is Baccarat.

I also showed it to a very knowledgeable glass collector who said he believes it is Baccarat. I also sent it to the site “Value My Stuff” and supposedly an appraiser looked at the pictures I sent and said it is just a whimsy piece from the 1950’s. I live in a very small area of So. Cal. and I would imagine the closest town that would have an appraiser that could actually look at it is about 200 miles away.

Are there any books or do you know if there is anyway I could confirm if it is Baccarat or not? Thank you for any help.
