I have a lidded with hinge Hat shaped piece that an appraiser told me was early Baccarat. He showed me the pattern in a book on Baccarat. Another appraiser said not Baccarat but a common piece from the 40’s or 50’s?? I would very much appreciate another opinion please. How do I post a pic?

I don’t think a picture would help. You have to study the glass, baccarat is expensive crystal and just feeling the glass compared to a knock off would take some very good books and a little knowledge. For instance Fostoria has many knock offs but it takes knowing your glassware and many good books.
