I just located a glass bottle on this site from Engeman & Hubener of N.Y. It’s identified as a c. 1861 beer bottle. I’m curious about that. My great-great-grandfather’s brother Joseph Engeman(n) was a partner in the business, which is described in city directories and other places as a soda manufacturing business. So I did not expect a beer bottle. Were beer bottles used in the soda business? I imagine they were, but am curious to find out more about their business. Thanks!
