Hi..Does anyone know about Morgantown glass. I have some dessert plates and all of them are a little rough around the bottom rim. Is that something Morgantown is known for? Also, if anyone has a Morgantown book, can someone tell me when these were made. The plates are Queen Louise. Thanks so much for any help anyone can provide.
Thanks for the dates !… The rim that the plates sit on is a bit rough. You can’t see it, but you can feel it. It certainly isn’t bad enough to cut you, but I want to sell them and I want to list them without having to mention flaws, or at least being able to say that this is a common Morgantown thing or a common thing to find on glass of this era. I just don’t know that much about glass. I am more of a pottery person.
