Hello! I am new to the forum. I have a couple of glass items that I am trying to identify. This one will likely totally embarrass me. It’s quite possibly a cheap import.
Description:
The color is a very pale seafoam/mint/pistachio green. It’s like a cross between milk glass and jadite/jadeite in color.
I actually am not totally sure that it is even GLASS. I really thought it was, but the bottom is matte in spots and made me realize that this might be just a light green tinted-porcelain vase with a clear glaze. I am used to seeing white porcelain with a tinted glaze, so this threw me off.
It’s semi-opaque. The thickness is something I’d expect from glass, not pottery – but I’m used to collecting California type pottery which is fairly heavy.
The bottom has the remnants of an oval label, and I can see one speck of gold foil on it. (Probably said Made in China – lol)
The inside… there is a “peak” of either glass or glaze on the bottom center about 1/8″ to 1/4″ high.
I have some milk glass vases here and I tried seeing if the sound was different. I really couldn’t determine a hug difference.
I don’t see any noticeable seams. Possibly the remnants of one.
Even if this is a dollar store vase, I like it and it looks nice with my milk glass vases. 🙂
