I have a vintage Filigree Brooch (or fur pin) that has a Jewelry makers mark of a ‘Palm Tree’ and a ‘P’ to the right of Palm Tree just fitting under the hanging down palm fronds. I can find no one who has identified it yet, even tho I see a few pieces with this mark for sale and messages on other boards asking about it. Researching Costume Jewelry website shows this as one of their unidentified makers marks. The pieces I see so far are all filigree pins, brooches, and/or fur-clips with rhinestones or faux pearls added. Metals used have been Palladium?, Sterling, and mine is marked ‘1/20 12K Gold Filled’. All the maker & metal marks are stamped on a small round disc that is attached to back of pins.
I did find a jewelry maker named Richard Polumbaum of New York (circa 1942) who used the word ‘PALM’ as a mark, but can find no further info about the Co. as to whether they ever used the Palm Tree P mark and/or made filigree pins. Thank you
